Message from the Principal

Dear Monte Gardens Families and Community,

Welcome to the new school year! There is a buzz in the air as teachers, students and parents anticipate this new school year.  As your principal, I am committed to continuing the tremendous legacy, tradition and vision of Monte Gardens Elementary School to ensure that every child will succeed with the support of school and home.  I am thrilled to be part a dynamic staff of dedicated and committed educators and am excited to be working with our wonderful and brilliant students.  One of Monte Garden’s greatest strengths is our powerful family and community support.  As parents, guardians and family, you are your child’s first and greatest teacher.  Together as a school community—school and home—students will succeed!

The Monte Gardens teaching and support staff is committed to providing caring and safe learning environments that educate the minds along with developing character of our students. Expectations for students are high, both academically and behaviorally, our staff provides powerful and challenging curriculum and instructional activities designed to meet the educational needs of students and allow them to be successful in reaching these expectations. Communication between home and school is valued. You will receive a monthly school newsletters (ROAR) from Diablo Basics Parents Club and teacher created communications including newsletters, e- mails, phone calls, notes, and progress reports. The school website is also kept up to date with important dates and information. “Back to School Night” is held the first week of school so that parents have the needed information to support their child in his/her current school experience. Parent -Teacher conferences are held in December focusing on the first report of progress for the year.  Academic goals for continued growth and success are established together.

As the principal of Monte Gardens Elementary School, my door is always open to you. Educating children through exceptional school programs is our business and our passion.  Your child is important to us.  You are important to us.  Together as a school family let us work together to best support students to be successful!
